Artist statement:

I hope that my pastel and watercolor drawings are reflections of my other works; pottery, photography, and gardening. They are also my appreciation for and contribution to life.

My work comes from the timely aspects of light and shadow. I am searching for an overall view of atmosphere, to capture its mood, and also its society. It is a simple and clear response to the existing state(subject). I play with the flow of my senses, and the values characteristic to soft pastels and watercolors.

I draw and paint from life, directly applying the color to capture the movement of the subject.
