Peter and Stella started
round dancing in 1993.
By 1996 Peter was talked into cueing for Vernon Sun Country Squares.
The same year, they took on the task of teaching a new dancer class.
Many names for the club was pondered and some discussions with the
dancers. Everyone agreed the name "Rhythm Rounds" was
the best choice for their club. Today Peter and Stella dance up
to phase VI in some of the rhythms and cue to phase V.
Since
the new dancers were always asking for a list figures already taught
and what else they were going to learn, Stella started making a
list for the dancers. This was becoming a lot of extra work. With
this mind, a small handbook for the two-step was written for them.
Then came the waltz, a handbook was also written. The next year,
we combined the 2 books and named it "Let's Dance". Within
a couple of more years of revising the book, the present "Let's
Dance" a handbook for new dancers, is available for new dancers
(and Cuers). Many Cuers recommend the book to their new dancers
as a guide or an extra tool in learning.
Stella
and Peter have also choreographed many dances of various phases
and rhythms. Many cue sheets are available on this site.
